On February 5, 1994, the Pelham Jewish Center provided food and music for an Inter Faith benefit performance of “Shake, Rabbis and Roll.” It featured singing and playing by Rev. Dave Holden of the Pelham Community Church (rattling the tambourine), Huguenot’s Rev. Bill Saum (blue jeans), Eve Weiss (red shirt), and the P.J.C.’s Rabbi Robbie Harris (on the right).
The rock group raised $500 for the Mazon nonprofit organization to feed the hungry. (The word mazon means “food” or “sustenance” in Hebrew.) Today Dr. Robert A. Harris teaches at the Jewish Theological Seminary and regularly performs with his rock band, SR2.
