About Huguenot

Community & People

Huguenot Memorial Church is a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation, a welcoming, positive, and progressive community of faith. We are multi-generational, family-friendly, and home to people from many different backgrounds and places. We are a More Light congregation dedicated to the full participation of LGBTQIA+ people in our life, ministry, and witness. Our people come together to worship and grow, fellowship and form community, and serve our neighbors near and far in Christian service

History & Space

Huguenot is a centennial church chartered in 1876 in the developing community of Pelham. Our name recognizes the history and contributions of those Reformed Huguenots who settled in New Rochelle in 1688 for religious freedom. Our beautiful Sanctuary (the second) was dedicated on December 10, 1918.  Further additions added our Chapel, Education Wing, Gymnasium, and Library. Our campus is English Gothic with exterior stone, rich wood interiors, and over 100 individual stained-glass windows in our Sanctuary and Chapel. These sacred spaces and our storied history help to elevate our hearts and spirits toward God. Recognizing the stewardship from the past we have inherited, we work to preserve and build upon it for future generations, through: beautiful sacred spaces and a loving faith community.

Huguenot Memorial Church is part of the More Light movement in the Presbyterian Church.
