Worship

Worship is the center of our community life. We believe that all we say and do is informed by this time of reconnecting with one another and with God. We worship at 10 a.m. each Sunday in a traditional Reformed service. We are gathered, confess our sins, receive the Word of God in scripture and sermon, reaffirm our faith, once a month share in the Lord’s Supper, and are sent back out into the world. At the beginning of worship, the children come forward to hear a message before departing for Sunday School for the remainder of service. Our congregation values sacred music as a vital part of our life together and our worship features a variety of special choirs, talented soloists, seasonal special music, and is centered on our Hele-Willis-Adema Organ.

Music

Many different choirs gather throughout the week to rehearse musical offerings for Sunday services and special concerts. The handbell choir, children’s choirs, and chancel choir create community together in the pursuit of musical excellence and worship of God. The handbell choir, children’s choirs, and third Sunday band offer their music for the congregation about once per month. All skill levels are welcome, and if you would like to offer your talents to any of these groups, please contact Kathy Jones at kjones@huguenotchurch.org.

Our Worship Space

Since 1918, our beautiful sanctuary has elevated our minds and spirits as we worship God. It is filled with wood, stone, and stained glass.  It is also filled with beautiful sounds thanks to our organ, piano, gifted choir, and music director.  Parking is available by accessing one of two driveways, either off of Pelhamdale Avenue or Esplanade. There is a level entrance to the Sanctuary from our accessible parking lot at the covered entrance to our Library. Deacons are present on Sundays to assist in providing you a bulletin and guiding you to a cushioned pew. Following worship, we always gather together for a time of fellowship and food at coffee hour.
