The Presbyterian Women of Huguenot (PW) fosters spiritual growth through a range of activities, including educational programs, retreats, Bible study and more.
Every year the PW holds several program events that include a guest speaker or speakers, group discussion, and also time for fellowship. Often a program theme is chosen for the year, and events during the course of the year touch on various aspects of the selected theme. Past themes have included 'celebrating women of faith', where different women of the church were asked to share their faith journey, and interfaith dialogue, in which women from other faiths were asked to come speak about their faith traditions. These programs are held at the home of a PW member.
For more information about PW programs, please contact the current PW Programs and Education coordinator(s).
Every year the women go on a spiritual retreat for either a day or an overnight. These retreats offer a precious chance to find space and time for deep reflection and spiritual growth. Retreat topics in recent years have included Forgiveness (led by Robin Farnsworth), Prayer (led by membes of the PW), and Friendship of Women (inspired by Joan Chittister's book The Friendship of Women).
Gifts of Women Service
An annual tradition of the Presbyterian Church (USA), Gifts of Women Sunday is a service that is run exclusively by the women of the church. Women write and lead all aspects of worship, including the sermon.
The PW has two active Bible Study groups. Click here for more information.
